Cavendish Scoops Industry Award

Cavendish Equity Release are pleased to announce that they have won the Best Equity Release Adviser award from the Investment Life & Pensions Moneyfacts Good Advice Awards 2009.

Cavendish joins SAFER

Cavendish becomes the newest member of Specialist Advisers For Equity Release, an alliance formed to improve the advice consumers receive when considering equity release.

Membership also consists of Age Partnership, Equity Release Solutions, and Key Retirement Solutions, who have all signed up to and agreed a code of practice to work together to ensure that customers can access all the information and quality of advice needed regarding equity release from true specialists.

SAFER members will also work hard to promote the FSA's principle of Treating Customers Fairly as well as being on hand to provide advice, experience and knowledge of the sector to consumer groups, regulatory bodies, the media and parliament.

Baroness Hollis Champions Equity Release

Baroness Hollis of Heigham raises the question of whether the government would consider promoting equity release schemes.

The Baroness addressed the House of Lords and entered into a debate on 2nd April 2009 as to whether the government would consider promoting fully regulated equity release schemes that are protected from no negative equity, and that are underpinned by independent financial advisers.

Lord Mynes (Parliamentary Secretary, HM Treasury) stated:

"My Lords, I certainly believe that equity release can play a valuable part in managing people's financial affairs, but is an inherently complex product. My noble friend is therefore right to emphasise the importance of advice."

Cavendish Committed to Training

Cavendish continues to expand the knowledge and skills of its team members.

As well as two advisers completing their full financial adviser exams in the first quarter of 2009, Cavendish are also pleased to announce that a further two staff members have successfully completed their CeMAP and CeRER exams (professional mortgage advisory and equity release qualifications) since November 2008.

A further two staff members are currently completing the qualifications.

In addition, all members of the administration team have been offered and accepted to complete NVQ level 2 and 3 Business Administration Courses.

Our highly skilled team are able to assist you with any queries you may have and ensure that every customer is dealt with professionally and efficiently.
